And, thankfully, the city’s compact environment means it’s all eminently walkable. A few minutes’ away from my hotel was the Reykjavik Art Museum, a renovated 1930s fish warehouse that now contains modern and contemporary Icelandic works, including a permanent exhibition of the pop artist Erró.
